2,052 new cases recorded on Wednesday; 14,935 tests conducted

KATHMANDU, September 1: Of 14,935 COVID-19 tests conducted across the country on Wednesday, 2,052 turned out positive for the virus, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, September 1: Of 14,935 COVID-19 tests conducted across the country on Wednesday, 2,052 turned out positive for the virus, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).



With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally has reached 848,204, including 719,336 recoveries and 10,770 deaths.

According to the health ministry, 10,612 PCR and 4,323 antigen tests were conducted on Wednesday. Of them, 1,648 PCR and 404 antigen tests turned out positive for COVID-19.


There are currently 34,189 active cases of COVID-19 across the country as of Wednesday afternoon. Of them, 31,812 are in home isolation, 2,377 in institutional isolation, 563 in ICUs and 170 are on ventilators.


Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 719 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Of them, 471 were detected in Kathmandu, 102 in Bhaktapur and 146 in Lalitpur districts.


According to MoHP, 1,00,92,164 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the country so far.
