29 people withdraw nomination from upcoming elections

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: As many as 29 candidates of various parties have withdrawn their names from the closed list submitted for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies to be held on November 20.

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: As many as 29 candidates of various parties have withdrawn their names from the closed list submitted for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies to be held on November 20.



The Election Commission had stated that if any candidate listed in the closed list wants to withdraw their name from the closed list of candidates during the time given to submit the amendment till October 2, they can submit an application on October 3 from 10AM to 12 noon.

According to Guru Prasad Wagle, the spokesperson appointed by the Election Commission for the said system, nine candidates for the House of Representatives and 20 for the provincial assemblies have withdrawn their names. In both levels, there are nine people from Nepali Congress, two from CPN (Maoist Centre), five each from Janata Samajwadi Party and CPN (United Socialist), one each from Nagarik Unmukti Party and Purna Jagaran Party and five from Rastriya Nagarik Party.


The commission has already informed the relevant parties about the withdrawal of nominations on October 3. From October 6  to October 8 at 3PM, there is a program in which the same group nominates another candidate and submits it to the commission for the vacancy due to the withdrawal of candidature.
