Balen Shah continues to lead in Kathmandu mayor race as vote counting continues (Updated)

KATHMANDU, May 14: Independent mayoral candidate of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah continues to lead as 1800 votes are counted so far.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Independent mayoral candidate of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah continues to lead as 4444 votes are counted so far.



According to the latest updates provided to media, Shah has secured 1575 votes while his nearest rival Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML has secured 985 votes so far.

Likewise, Sirjana Singh of the ruling alliance has secured 825 votes. Madan Das Shrestha of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Independent candidate Suman Sayami are trailing behind them as the vote counting is currently underway at City Hall in Bhrikutimandap.


In the post of Deputy Mayor, UML's candidate Sunita Dangol is leading all other candidates with a huge margin.
