KATHMANDU, May 26: The budget for the next fiscal year 2024/25 will be presented on Tuesday, May 28 at 1 PM.
In the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire said that a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament will be held at 1 o'clock on Tuesday for the purpose of submitting the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure of the government for the fiscal year 2024/25.
Budget speech postponed by two hours
For that, Speaker Ghimire requested the members of the House of Representatives to attend Parliament before 12:45 PM.
According to Article 119 of the Constitution, the budget must be presented at a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on May 28. Finance Minister Barshaman Pun will present the budget for the next fiscal year.
In previous years, the budget was typically presented in parliament only in the afternoon. This year, however, parliament will convene earlier for the budget presentation.
