KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Accusing the government of failing to implement the deal reached with him, senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Dr Govinda KC on Saturday announced to stage another hunger strike.

Dr KC said he will stage ninth hunger strike if his demand to implement the four-point agreement inked on July 24 is not addressed by September 18.

He has also accused Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of pressing officials to grant afflictions to B&C Medical College, Jhapa and National Medical College, Kathmandu.

Dr KC said that he had postponed the earlier fast-unto-death following assurance from Prime Minister Dahal and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba to fulfill his demands.

He has now accused both of them working against him.

Some two weeks ago, Dr KC had called on PM Dahal and asked him to fulfill the demands.

The four point deal signed on 16th day of his eighth hunger strike states that the government will purchase properties and physical infrastructures of the Manmohan Medical College and the Basic Science Building of the college built at Dahachowk, Kathmandu and fulfill other demands put forth by Dr KC.
