Dr Mahat insists on making party competent for victory in election

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Nepali Congress (NC) joint general secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said it would be better if the upcoming party leadership was elected through a consensus.

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Nepali Congress (NC) joint general secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said it would be better if the upcoming party leadership was elected through a consensus. 



He gave this remark while addressing the Province Assembly regional convention for the constituency ‘A’ and ‘B’ under the Kathmandu-5 held today in course of the party’s upcoming 14th General Convention.

“We are competing for the leadership within the party.  But in reality, we should be able to compete well with other political parties in the upcoming election. After the General Convention, the party's entire attention should be on securing a victory in the election,” he asserted.     


He called on the representatives competing for different posts in the party to take the race as usual and accept the election results and abide by the culture of harmony and unity as in the past. 


The Province Assembly regional convention of the party was conducted in 46 districts across the country in the course of the General Convention, which is scheduled to be held from December 10 to December 12 in Kathmandu.
