Five houses swept away by landslide in Kalikot

SURKHET, Aug 30: A landslide swept away five houses and killed one person in Kalikot district on Sunday morning. Many have been feared buried in the landslide debris.

SURKHET, Aug 30: A landslide swept away five houses and killed one person in Kalikot district on Sunday morning. Many have been feared buried in the landslide debris.

The landslide that occurred at Nagam Bazar of Tilagufa Municipality-1 at around 7:30 this morning, killed one person, according to the District Police Office, Kalikot. “Two others were rescued alive.”


The rescued individuals are undergoing treatment at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.


As of now, there is no exact figure of the missing and buried individuals. According to the locals, many might have been buried in the debris as the landslide occurred during the breakfast time in the morning. 


District police office personnel of Kalikot and Jumla, Armed Police Force and locals are doing their best to find out the whereabouts of the missing people and rescue them.
