Four parties holding meetings to decide whether to support passing of the budget

KATHMANDU, June 28: Four major political parties have convened separate meetings to discuss their stance on supporting the passing of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/81 BS, which is scheduled to be presented to the House of Representatives (HoR) today.

KATHMANDU, June 28: Four major political parties have convened separate meetings to discuss their stance on supporting the passing of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/81 BS, which is scheduled to be presented to the House of Representatives (HoR) today. 



The HoR meeting is set to commence at 11 am. Prior to that, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), CPN (Unified Socialist) Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, and Janamat Party have called for their respective Parliamentary Party (PP) meetings.

The JSP parliamentary party meeting took place at 10:30 am today at the Parliament House. The primary agenda of the meeting is to deliberate on whether or not to support the budget for the next fiscal year 2080/081 BS as presented by the government. The JSP has raised its concerns regarding the budget and has maintained that it cannot be passed without necessary amendments.


Likewise, the meeting of the parliamentary party of the CPN (Unified Socialist) is also taking place at the Parliament House from 10:30 am today. The meeting will focus on deciding whether or not to support the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/81 BS. The party has expressed reservations about the budget and emphasized the need for amendments before its approval.


The Nagarik Unmukti Party and the Janamat Party have called for meetings of their respective parliamentary parties. Dissatisfaction with the budget has been growing within the ruling party. While the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Maoist Center) have issued whips to support the budget, other coalition partners are yet to make a final decision regarding their stance on their support of passing of the budget.
