DHANKUTA, Dec 17: A PCR machine has been installed in District Hospital Dhankuta. The District Hospital has started free PCR testing. The installation of PCR Machine Molecular Lab was inaugurated by member of federal parliament Rajendra Kumar Rai.
Dr Pujan Biswakarma, medical superintendent at the district hospital, Dhankuta informed that the machine was procured for 8.5 million rupees, and 1.5 million rupees was used to set up the lab. He stated the lab can carry out 300 PCR tests daily.

Rai said that the installation of the machine has been possible after a long struggle. Rai stated though the government had allocated the budget for the installation three months ago, it took some time for the machine to be installed in the hospital.
He said that the installation of the machine has contributed to upgrading the district hospital. A total of 20 million rupees has been allocated for the establishment of 10 ventilators in the hospital.
