Good for diabetic people: Gooseberry keeps the blood sugar level in check. It contains an element called chromium that stimulates the activity and regulation of beta cells in the body. Beta cells are responsible for the production of insulin. When there is enough insulin in the body, sugar can be readily converted into energy or other useful products.



Rich source of carotene: Since gooseberries are a great source of carotene, they are good for the eyesight and hair. Carotene possesses the ability to reduce the risk of night blindness, cataract, and other possible age-related vision problems. Similarly, carotene strengthens hairs from the roots.


Diuretic property: Gooseberries can help you flush out unwanted toxins and excess salt from the body. They do so by increasing the production of urine. Thus, it protects you from the risk of many diseases and infections.
