Hridayesh Tripathi announces new party

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Hridayesh Tripathi, who split from the then Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and formed an independent political group, has announced a new party.

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Hridayesh Tripathi, who split from the then Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and formed an independent political group, has announced a new party.



Organizing a program in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he announced the formation of the new party ‘People’s Progressive Party’. Tripathi is the coordinator of the newly-formed party. “We are not interested in unhealthy competition by criticizing other political parties and showing us in a good light,” reads a press statement issued by the party.

In the last election, he and other leaders of his independent political group had contested the Provincial Assembly and House of Representatives elections with the CPN-UML's election symbol- Sun.
