RASUWA, Dec 26: A woman gave birth to a 5 kilogram baby at the District Hospital Rasuwa.
Dawa Tamang, 28, from Dhunche, Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-6 of Rasuwa gave birth to a baby weighing 5 kg on Thursday morning.

This is the first time in Rasuwa district that a mother has given birth to a baby weighing 5 kg.
According to Dr Resal Pokhrel, the delivery was conducted without any operation. “Health condition of both the mother and baby is stable for now,” he added.
According to the international practice, a mother must undergo a surgery if the baby weighs more than 4.5 kg during ultrasonography.
It is very unusual to give birth to a baby of 5 kg, said medical superintendent at the Hospital Dr Anil Kharel.
