JGI provides Rs 1.5 million to NA for Mountain Cleaning Campaign

KATHMANDU, June 15: JGI Nepal Foundation has provided Rs 1.5 million to Nepal Army for the Mountain Cleaning Campaign.

KATHMANDU, June 15: JGI Nepal Foundation has provided Rs 1.5 million to Nepal Army for the Mountain Cleaning Campaign.



According to a statement issued by the company, the campaign is being led by Nepal Army in coordination and support from multiple government bodies, private sector, development partners, civil society and implementing partners like Avni Center for Sustainability (ACS).

The campaign is one of the biggest Mountain Clean-Up Campaigns in the world and aims to clean four mountains - Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Manaslu and Mt Kanchenjunga this year. The goal is to collect 35 tons of waste from these mountains and recycle it. The Mountain Clean-up campaign was completed on World Environment Day (June 5, 2022).
