"The retailers have raised the price of sugar randomly. When I asked the price of sugar at a grocery shop nearby my apartment, the shopkeeper said it would cost Rs 87 per kg and added that it would go up to Rs 100 during Dashain festival," said Khatiwada.

He lashed out at the government for its failure to control the price and suspected involvement of some crooks behind the skyrocketing price of the essential commodity like sugar at a time when the Dashain festival, the greatest festival of Hindus, is just around the corner.
