Let's all be serious to stop intellectual brain drain: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the increasing migration of intellectual people to foreign countries is a challenge for the country and everyone should unite to stop it.

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the increasing migration of intellectual people to foreign countries is a challenge for the country and everyone should unite to stop it.



Speaking at the convocation ceremony of Pokhara University held today at Lekhnath in Kaski, Prime Minister Dahal said that all concerned parties should pay attention to stop the brain drain.

Prime Minister Dahal said, “Although there are many challenges for you to prove that you are competitive and strong in the world market, I hope and believe that you will keep the reputation of Pokhara University and the country high by being patient, restrained and visionary. You also have the important responsibility of creating an environment where people who migrate abroad for various reasons can live in the country through employment and skills.”


He said that the problems of the education sector including those related to policy, institutional, structural and operational challenges are expected to be addressed through the Federal Education Act. “I believe that the entire educational world, including here, will have significant support in this effort of the government.”


PM Dahal said that the role of the education sector will be foremost in achieving the goals of the government towards social justice, good governance and prosperity. He said that he believes that the government will be able to achieve the goals only through the support and cooperation of all intellectuals in the education sector.
