NC Central Working Committee meeting begins

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: A virtual meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress (NC) has begun. 



The meeting began at 3 PM, according to the party's central office. NC General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that the meeting will discuss the formation of the party's central work performance committee, local level election and other issues.

There is an arrangement for the office-bearers of the party to be ex-officio members of the executive committee. The party spokesperson and the leader of the parliamentary party will also be ex-officio members of the Central Work Performance Committee. 


The party statute gives the party president the right to propose 31 more members from among the members of the central committee to be nominated as members of the Work Performance Committee. Article 23 of the party statute states that the proposal has to be approved by the Central Committee.


There is a provision in the statute that the meeting of the Central Work Performance Committee should be held at least once a month.
