Dahit said that Chaudhary was shifted to the ICU due to her deteriorating condition after she faced breathing difficulties.

Chaudhary was admitted to Bir Hospital after she tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Writing a Facebook status, Dahit said that he briefly talked with Chaudhary on the phone this morning. He said that she expressed her worries and concerns about other coronavirus-infected patients and sent her prayers for their speed recovery during his five-minute conversation.

Earlier in 2016, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She had also suffered from dengue last year.

Chaudary, a former Kamalari [bonded laborer] turned politician, had drawn praises after she returned the financial support of Rs 500,000 that she received from the government for the treatment of cancer.
