On the occasion, leader Garjurel argued that the MCC Compact is a part of Washington's Indo-Pacific Strategy. "MCC is a part of US-led grant military alliance. Hence, Nepal should not succumb to the US pressure," Gajurel said.

On his part, speaker Sapkota vowed to conduct detail study on the MCC Compact, according to the speaker's secretariat.

Earlier today, the nine-party alliance had submitted memorandum to Prime Minister's Office demanding not to ratify the MCC's Nepal Compact.

During a protest in the capital on Friday, the nine-party alliance said it would launch a nation-wide protest against the MCC compact.
