PM Dahal holding eight more ministries

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has assigned eight more ministries to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. On the recommendation of PM Dahal, President Bhandari has appointed the Prime Minister to handle the duties of that ministry.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has assigned eight more ministries to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. On the recommendation of PM Dahal, President Bhandari has appointed the Prime Minister to handle the duties of that ministry.



According to Sagar Acharya, spokesperson for the President's Office, after the resignation of the minister who was part of the current cabinet on Monday, the prime minister has been appointed the minister to take charge of the vacant ministry. After the resignation of the ministers participating in the government on behalf of CPN-UML, eight ministries are without ministers.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel; Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Jwala Kumari Sah; Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Damodar Bhandari; Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Rajendra Kumar Rai; Foreign Minister Dr Bimala Rai Poudyal; Health and Population Minister Padam Giri, Women, Children and Senior Citizens Minister Bhagwati Chaudhary; and Defense Minister Hari Prasad Upreti resigned. The ministerial portfolios held by them have fallen on the shoulders of Prime Minister Dahal.
