Prez to pay a four-day official visit to Qatar

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: President Bidya Bhandari is paying a four-day official visit to Qatar beginning Monday. 



According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), President Bhandari is visiting the Gulf kingdom at the invitation of the amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. 


President Bhandari will have a meeting with the amir at Amiri Diwan on October 30. Following the official talks, the amir will host a banquet in honor of President Bhandari.

Co-Founder and the Chairperson of Qatar Foundation Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and other distinguished personalities of Qatar are scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Bhandari. 


The president will address a joint interactive meeting of the business community on the theme “Business and Investment Opportunities in Nepal” on October 30. The president will visit the Embassy of Nepal in Doha and hold meeting with the Nepali community.


Nepal’s ambassador to Qatar Ramesh Prasad Koirala will host a reception in honor of the visiting dignataries from Nepal on October 29.


According to a press statement issued by MoFA, a business delegation will also be accompanying the president during the visit. She will be returning home on November 1. 


President Bhandari will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi and other high-level officials from the president’s office and the foreign ministry.
