Rasuwa customs office collects Rs 585.5 million in fines over 11 months

RASUWA, June 21: The Rasuwa Customs Office has collected fines amounting to Rs 585.5 million from traders attempting to evade revenue by understating the quantity of materials imported from China.

RASUWA, June 21: The Rasuwa Customs Office has collected fines amounting to Rs 585.5 million from traders attempting to evade revenue by understating the quantity of materials imported from China.



Chief Customs Officer Ram Prasad Pathak reported that this amount was recovered over the past 11 months of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2023/24.

From mid-July of last year to mid-June of this year, imports from China totaled Rs 59.79 billion, while exports amounted to Rs 1.85 billion.


Pathak stated that revenue collection has surpassed the annual target by 165 percent, with Rs 19.172 billion recovered by mid-June.
