Nepalese spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will make his BBL return after joining up with the squad in Brisbane following the completion of his Bangladesh Premier League duties.
Lamichhane, who lit up the beginning of the BBL season with eight wickets from his four matches, will replace English fast bowler Liam Plunkett in the squad.
Plunkett leaves the Stars with 12 wickets from eight matches including best figures of 4-36.
The Stars will be looking to secure a spot in the BBL|08 finals with a win over the Heat before facing the Sydney Sixers on Sunday, February 10 at 2:45pm in their final home match of the season at the MCG.
