Sangita Dhami wins first international medal for Nepal in wrestling (with photos)

JANAKPUR, Dec 7: Nepal's Sangita Dhami has bagged a gold medal in women's wrestling 55 kg category at the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Janakpur on Saturday.

JANAKPUR, Dec 7: Nepal's Sangita Dhami has bagged a gold medal in women's wrestling 55 kg category at the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Janakpur on Saturday. 



In the finals, she beat Bangladesh's Sarkar Rime.

With this, she has become the first Nepali wrestler to win an international medal for Nepal in wrestling. 



From Mahendranagar, Bhim Dutta municipality of Sudur Paschim province,  Dhami talking to Republica said that she wanted to dedicate her medal to her coach and her mother. 


19-year-old Dhami playing her first international match was in tears after the historic win.
