Wrestling championship on May 11

KATHMANDU, March 16: Nepal Ring Wrestling Association is set to host MKW Belt and Road Championship Wrestling friendly series with China celebrating the occasion as the friendship festival between the two nations in Kathmandu on Friday. ‘One belt, one road’ is a China sponsored program helping the project.

KATHMANDU, March 16: Nepal Ring Wrestling Association is set to host MKW Belt and Road Championship Wrestling friendly series with China celebrating the occasion as the friendship festival between the two nations in Kathmandu on Friday. ‘One belt, one road’ is a China sponsored program helping the project.



The organizing association has said that Nepal will be able to strengthen its relation with other nations by hosting such events. “It will help develop friendship between the nations which includes nations from Asia, Africa and Europe,” said Sunita Thapa, the president of wrestling association.

The event is set to be played at National Sports Council covered hall in Tripueshwar on May 11. Wrestlers from six countries, Nepal, China, the United States, England, Hong Kong and New Zealand, will participate in the event. Nepal’s popular wrestlers Nuwakot Tiger, Thakur, David, X-Hero, Shine, Chattan and Dilasha are seeded to tussle against the international stars.


Apart from Belt and Road Championship belt, a World Championship belt will also be up for grabs in the event informed the association. Wrestlers will participate in various categories which include singles, tags, two vs two, etc. A budget of Rs 4.5 million has been allocated for the event informed the president Thapa.
