Shah wins Laxmi Bank Open Golf Tournament

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Bikash Shah has clinched the title of Laxmi Bank Open Golf Tournament on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Bikash Shah has clinched the title of Laxmi Bank Open Golf Tournament on Saturday.  



In the competition held at Gokarna Golf Club, playing with six handicap, Shah accumulated 38 stableford points to become the champion on the count back after being tied with Vijay Shrestha Einhaus.

Shah and Einhaus both scored 18 on the front nine and 20 on the back nine. On the last six holes Shah earned 13 points against 12 of Einhaus to win the competition.  


Lobsang Tashi became winner in the seniors category (60 years & above) with 36 points while Pratima Sherpa won the ladies section with 32 points. 


Tashi Ghale was winner in the guest category with 35 points whereas Surendra Phuyal won special category with 37 points. Shreeyog Basnyat lifted Junior trophy with 17 points on 9 holes.


A total of 103 golfers participated in the tournament played on stableford format with 3/4 handicap over 18 holes. CEO of Laxmi Bank Sudesh Khaling and Captain of Gokarna Golf Club Joseph Nathan distributed the prizes to the winners.
