Tanahun-1 by-election: RSP's Dr Wagle continues to maintain his lead

KATHMANDU, April 24: Counting of votes of the by-election in Tanahun constituency-1 is currently underway. According to the latest update of the Election Commission, 37,841 votes have been counted as of 5:30 pm. Swarnim Wagle of Rashriya Swatantra Party is ahead of other candidates with 19,249 votes.

KATHMANDU, April 24: Counting of votes of the by-election in Tanahun constituency-1 is currently underway. According to the latest update of the Election Commission, 37,841 votes have been counted as of 5:30 pm. Swarnim Wagle of Rashriya Swatantra Party is ahead of other candidates with 19,249 votes.



Nepali Congress candidate Govind Bhattarai has received 11,279 votes and CPN (UML)'s Sarvendra Khanal is a distant third with 6,152 votes.

The by-election was held after Nepali Congress candidate  Ram Chandra Poudel, who was elected as a member of the HoR from Tanahun-1 during the election held on November 20, was elected as the president of the country. Out of a total of 123,305 voters, a total of 65,099 votes were cast in this constituency.


Counting of votes in 26 wards out of 42 has been completed so far.
