Girl appearing for SEE in Surket raped, murdered

SURKHET, Mar 28: Three people including a policeman were taken into custody  Wednesday for alleged involvement in the rape and murder of an 18 year-old student appearing in the Secondary Education Examinations (SEE)  from Panchpuri Municipality, Surket.

SURKHET, Mar 28: Three people including a policeman were taken into custody  Wednesday for alleged involvement in the rape and murder of an 18 year-old student appearing in the Secondary Education Examinations (SEE)  from Panchpuri Municipality, Surket. 



The victim was found dead in her rented room at Babiyachaur, which is near the exam center, on Tuesday morning. Police confirmed that she was murdered after being raped in the rented room.

According to District Police chief SP Uma Prasad Chaturbedi, traffic cop Hari Koirala and  local residents  Khum Prasad Bastola, 28, Panchapuri-8, Majhaigaun and his brother Laxmi Bastola, 20, were taken into custody. 


 “We are undertaking further investigations and a case has been filed against all three,” said SP Chaturbedi. 




The arrested have claimed that the girl was injured in a motorcycle accident, according to  police. The police, however, didn't find any damage to the motorbike. “Further details will be established only after an autopsy report,” said the police officer. 


Serious injury has been found on the right temple of the dead girl, her toes are burnt and there are several bruises, according to  police.
