BARDIYA, Sept 18: Three members of the same family died on Friday night after being trapped in an electric trap laid by their neighbor to kill wild boars.

BARDIYA, Sept 18: Three members of the same family died on Friday night after being trapped in an electric trap laid by their neighbor to kill wild boars.



According to Bardiya Police, the deceased have been identified as Bal Krishna Tharu, 32, his wife Sunita Tharu, 29, and her brother-in-law Belmati Tharu, 43, of Bardiya, according to District Police Office, Bardiya. They were trapped in an electric trap put in place to kill wild boars that cause damage to the crops.

One of the deceased persons was first electrocuted at around 10 P.M on Friday night. Two others were electrocuted subsequently as they tried to rescue him. The postmortem of the deceased persons is being conducted at Bardiya District Hospital. 


Police have arrested 83-year-old Raj Bahadur Shahi for setting the electric trap. “The incident is under further investigation,” said the police on duty at the Area Police Office in Bhurigaun.
