UDAYAPUR, May 20: Ruslan Three Star Club has lifted the fifth Udayapur Rumpum Gold Cup football tournament with a 1-0 win over Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club on Saturday.
Three Star had won the first and the third editions of the tournament earlier, and African player Ajayi Martin’s red card was a major setback in the match. Martin had scored the opener of the match in the 18th minute to give Three Star a lead. Manang’s Bimal Basnet also got a red card, so it was well-matched after that. With the title win, Three Star has taken home Rs 500,000, while the runner-up Manang was rewarded with Rs 300,000.
Machhindra lifts Satakshi to win second title of the season
Three Star’s Peter Segun was named the best player of the tournament and was prized with Rs 50,000. Three Star also dominated the individual awards.
