KATHMANDU, June 25: Tribhuvan University (TU) is all set to hold all the exams earlier suspended due to COVID-19 outbreak by the end of the Nepali year of 2078 (mid-April 2022).
The Office of Exam Controller of TU said that it would make the university’s calendar, which was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, operational by administering all the annual and semester examinations.
Exam Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi said that the postponed examinations would be conducted, strictly adhering to the public health protolcs. “We’ll hold exams with examinees’ physical attendance if possible, otherwise we’ll also go for virtual evaluation,” he added.

Most exams under the country’s oldest university have remained suspended owing to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic starting March, 2020. Though it held some exams last year, the second wave impacted the normal routine.
For instance, the annual board examination of the Bachelor’s Level first year, which was to be held in September last year, is yet to happen.
TU recently published a notice and said that it would administer examinations of the first and second years of the Bachelor’s level next month.
Exam Controller Joshi shared that the exams, which were to be held before mid-April will be held before October. Similarly, those to be held April onward will be held after September.
Accessible exam centers
TU is planning to designate the exam centers where the examinees have easy access even during the corona period, meaning they [examinees] will not have to travel at risk to sit for their exams.
“We asked the examinees to specify their accessible exam centers during the form fill-up.
“This will help them appear for the examinations at accessible places without risking the deadly coronavirus disease.”
