Two drown while immersing Durga idol

BHAIRAHAWA (RUPANDEHI), Oct 24:  Two drowned at the confluence of the Danab and Tinau rivers while participating in a ceremony to immerse the idol of Goddess Durga during the Bada Dashain festival. 



The deceased have been identified as Ajay Kumar Nau and Ajay Rajbhara of Kotahi Mai Rural Municipality-1 in the district, according to Rupandehi Police Chief Superintendent of Police, Bharat Bahadur Bishwakarma.

Santa Kumar Rajbhar, 20, of the same locality has gone missing in the river, and search efforts are underway.  The ceremony involving the immersion of the idol of the goddess Durga takes place at the confluence of Danab and Tinau rivers during the Dashain festival.
