UML hits century as Maharjan elected Kirtipur mayor

KATHMANDU, May 19: CPN-UML candidate Ramesh Maharjan has been elected as mayor of Kirtipur Municipality.

KATHMANDU, May 19: CPN-UML candidate Ramesh Maharjan has been elected as  mayor of Kirtipur Municipality.



Maharjan secured 7,360 votes while his closest  rival Nepali Congress’s Raj Kumar  Nakarmi got 6, 615 votes.

Similarly, Saraswati Khadka has been elected as deputy mayor with 6,810 votes. Her immediate rival Jenisha Maharjan of Nepali Congress got 6,043 votes.
