NC candidate elected mayor of Kirtipur Municipality

KATHMANDU, May 17: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Raj Kumar Nakarki has been elected Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality, securing 9,043 votes. His nearest rival Keshratna Bajracharya of CPN-UML got 5,507 votes, according to Chief Returning Officer in Kathmandu, Thakur Bhattarai.

Similarly, Janata Samajbadi Party's Shuva Laxmi Shakya has been elected Deputy Mayor securing 8,665 votes. Her nearest rival from Bindu Maharjan of CPN-UML received 7,206 votes.
