CHITWAN , May 20: Vote-count halted since Friday night following row over vote-counting of Ward-9 has been resumed in Bharatpur Metropolitan City following 10-point agreement reached among major parties.
The major parties have agreed to keep a record of votes cast for Nepali Congress for mayoral position despite the fact that it did not field its own mayoral candidate following an electoral alliance forged with CPN(Maoist Center). They have agreed to make public that record upon completion of vote counting.

Votes cast for the party that has not fielded a mayoral candidate as if someone representing that party were standing for an election will be automatically invalid. The invalid votes cast by Nepali Congress supporters for mayoral position have not been made public yet
On Friday evening, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN(Maoist Center) had demanded that votes be recounted after an inconsistency was found between the number of votes cast shown in the computer database and the records kept by party representatives
The concerned parties on Friday had put ongoing vote counting on hold making a decision to hold an all-party meeting with a view to making vote-counting as transparent as possible.
