DOLPA, May 6: A man here allegedly beat his wife for not giving birth to a son. Kumar Shahi of Jufal-7 in Thulibheri Municipality-7 attacked his spouse Bisara Rokaya with a sharp weapon, leaving her seriously injured, threatening to expel her from the house for not having son. The incident happened on May 4.
He was drunk at the time, it is said. She lost consciousness in the attack and regained it following treatment at Jufal-based medical center. Three stitches were required to close a cut injury she suffered near her right eye in the attack, medical center's proprietor Buddhi Bahadur Dharala said.
