RAJBIRAJ, Sept 5: Police have arrested province assembly member of Madesh Province, Anirudh Kumar Singh Yadav, on the charge of murder on Monday.

According to the District Police Office, Saptari, Yadav was arrested from Rajbiraj. He is accused of murdering after abducting Govinda Chaudhary, 32, of Khoksar Prabaha VDC-1 from the erstwhile Bodebasain VDC-4 of Saptari district on June 23, 2007. The PA member had been absconding for a long time.
Govinda's sister, Rita Kumari Chaudhary, had filed a case against nine people including Yadav at the District Police Office, Saptari on June 28, 2007.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Naresh Kumar Singh, said District Court Saptari has extended Yadav's custody for a few more days for the investigation.
