KATHMANDU, June 27: The Supreme Court on Sunday dismissed a writ petition filed against the outgoing Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale Magar. A single bench of Justice Anil Kumar Sinha dismissed the writ petition that demanded relieving Minister Ale from the post. The petitioner argued that the obscene remarks made by a person of Ale's stature would have a negative impact on society.
Earlier, an audio clip of Minister Ale using obscene words toward Nepal Airline Corporation (NAC) Chairman Yuvraj Adhikari. Similarly, another clip of Minister Ale making abusive remarks and threatening Jagat Oli, a resident of Acham currently residing in Mumbai, India was also made public to the media. Based on the incidents, Advocate Kishor Poudel and Anupam Bhattarai had filed a writ against the minister at the apex court.
